When huge is simply not big enough, then the Weber Genesis II E-610 is the grill you need. This gigantic 6-burner grill is a steel monster that will probably cook all the food you need for those family gatherings where 3 generations all get together at once. This is probably the grill that is going to strike the sweetest middle ground for most people. It’s a good size grill for portable bbq big families or gatherings and for many people there won’t be a lot of motivation to spend $200 – $300 extra on the 4-burner or larger models. Finally there is an “entry-level” Genesis two burner grill. I’m not sure if Weber realizes that this model is sort of getting stiff competition from their new Spirit II range, but I guess it doesn’t matter much as it’s all in the family.
The Tuck-Away warming rack provides an additional 156 square-inches for a generous 669 square-inches of total cooking area. The Genesis II grills come equipped with a Grease Management System that makes clean-up as easy as possible. The black color finish porcelain-enameled hood has a center-mounted thermometer to monitor cooking temperatures and has weber q painted cast-aluminum end caps. The iGrill 3-ready Genesis II SE grills feature a motion-activated, handle-mounted light for added visibility during night-time grilling and a fuel gauge on propane gas models. The propane tank is stored to the side, freeing up the shelf space under the grill and has a tank shield that keeps the tank out of view.
It has prepared everything you didn’t even know you needed. From the moment you buy this grill, you will be satisfied with what it can do from its beautiful, stylish stainless-steel design to its powerful food searing abilities. This grill really can do it all, and if you can afford it, I would not waste my time looking at other grills. Perhaps the highlight of this model is the flavorizer bars. Designed by Weber back in the 1980s, these bars’ purpose is to catch drippings, vaporize them, and send them back to the food for extra flavor. All the management of such a powerful machine is directly vested in your hands.
But I’d happily trade many of the bells and whistles of the LX line for a grill that can give me a blistering sear and enough power to keep the indirect cooking temps dependable. As far as I know, it’s still stuck and the lights are still on. There’s also an LED that indicates how full the propane tank is, but it’s right around the corner from the manual tank scale that tells you, at a glance, how full the propane tank is. So, there are two fuel gauges right next to each other, which display exactly the same information. But after more rigorous testing, the grill proved to have some serious weaknesses.
The Weber Genesis II series represents Weber’s update and replacement of the trusty old Genesis range. The Genesis II range brings new technology and expanded grill sizes to the table. When you use this kit, you do not have to ignite the center burner; rather, you use the left and right burners for indirect heat. This keeps your chicken juicy while cooking it to the appropriate temperature. The wide, flat grill grates on the E-310 are easy to clean and give your food appealing sear marks.
There is an internal sear station that puts out 9,000 BTU of heat and is perfect if you are looking to create a hard sear with prominent grill marks. The 12,000 BTU side burner can be used as a cooking station for sides and sauces or as an additional warming area. The fuel tank is mounted to the side and the unit comes with a fuel gauge.
