Best Weber Genesis Grill Review

It comes with a lot of parts, but the manual at least seems decent enough to somewhat alleviate the challenging assembly. With that said, the app requires you to purchase the iGrill 3 device separately, and it costs about $100. It may be worth the money, but your budget needs to weber q bigger to afford the grill AND the device. Seeing as it is a premium grill, it comes at a premium price. Therefore, before you decide to buy one, you may want to know more. In this article, we are going to look at a few of the features together to help you make up your mind.

The Spirit line of grills does not have representative products in the same size category. This model is a larger grill with four stainless steel burners that can deliver a total of 69,000 BTU and 844 square inches of cooking area, divided into various segments. The Genesis II E-310 can serve up to ten people despite its small size. The three stainless steel burners can produce a lot of heat, delivering 37,500 BTU and 513 square inches of cooking area.

For more detailed information on the LX models, see Standout Features, below. To achieve this, Weber updated the burner design for the Genesis II models. The burner ports have a rounded shape portable bbq instead of narrow slits, and they’re also larger in size. This means that the ports are less likely to become clogged due to corrosion or grease buildup, which cuts down on maintenance.

I learned that while its burners are mighty, they also offer a wide temperature range which can be unforgiving if you’re not careful. For example, when I turned the Genesis II’s burner dials all the way up, after 10 minutes the temperature under the hood easily cracked 600 degrees (633.7 in fact). That same high setting and preheat time on the Char-Broil SmartChef Tru-Infrared yielded an internal temp of 457.4 degrees. Likewise, medium power on the Genesis, especially cooking with indirect heat, was much cooler than I expected. This resulted in unacceptably long cooking times even when all its burner knob markings were parked dead center of its dial.

Some of the premium priced GII models come with stainless steel rod grates, which we prefer. The stainless steel rods allow the radiant gas flames to develop a tasty brown crust over the entire meat surface. One of the smaller models, the Spirit E-310 can still be enough to serve up to seven people.

However, the improvement outweigh these few issues, and these are still the best grills your money can buy. As you’d expect, assembly of this monster takes some work, so if you have to option for expert assembly when you purchase it, it might be a good idea to take that. Anyway, this is a great looking two burner grill, but it targets a difficult spot in hierarchy as the Spirit II is considerably cheaper for not much of a difference.

You do get a small side burner with Char-Broil’s SmartChef grill, a feature Weber includes on various grills across its product lines, but not on this one. Brian Bennett is a senior writer for the home and outdoor section at CNET. He reviews a wide range of household and smart-home products.

Since its inception in the 1950s, Weber has been an industry leader when it comes to backyard grilling. All of the grills in the Genesis II E series have an open cart, a porcelain-enameled lid, and porcelain-coated cast-iron grates. Each has an electronic igniter, a fuel guage, a side table, and a 10-year burner warranty. Even though this is only slightly larger than the old Spirit grill in primary cooking space, it will still comfortably accommodate a family of four. The heat is plenty for the size and the grill gets up to 550 degrees in about 10 – 15 minutes depending on conditions.

Since then, both of these product lines have seen several advancements which we will cover. In 2022 Weber launched the brand new line of Genesis grills, removing the II designation. The Genesis II E-310 is an upgrade from your average gas grill and tops our list of the best propane grills roundup.
