It’s a nice change of pace to my overall approach that I wasn’t expecting when I started my review. The camera still has the same, small 1/2.3-inch 12MP sensor as the original Mini, but it produces much nicer photos than before. JPGs that you get right off the drone are fantastic, and you can “enhance” them within the DJI app. It applies some subtle adjustments to the overall contrast of the image, lifts shadows, and adds a bit of life to overall colors. I appreciate how subtle and effective these adjustments are. And though it obviously has a worse camera than DJI’s bigger drones, it’s still a very good camera.
YES… you need the combo well worth the extra $$$ for what you get. Starting out this is perfect for training and general use. Would I buy another you bet, would I recommend this to someone? Regarding DJI drones, their products come in two packages, and the Mini 2 is no exception; the standard version, and the fly more combo. You might be wondering which is the right one for you, so allow me to explain the differences. I’ve been a fan of flight since a young age; while I’ve had few opportunities at the helm of manned aircraft, the hours on my fleet of drones continue to grow.
There are aftermarket chargers that can get a recharge done much quicker if you have greater needs. I do not carry the charger in the case as there is no need in the woods and it will not fit. If I really need the charger, I can carry it seperately.
Although my post above was to return to the original question addressing “does it protect the drone?”, we wouldn’t consider an alternative purchase if we already had the DJI Combo bag. It’s well designed, sufficiently well made, not too heavy, and keeps out the dust. And it’s easily compact enough to fit in a backpack or similar – even as just one of several similar-sized equipment bags – with other flexible stuff going around it. It’s not as if we have phantom 4 never purchased a different bag for a specific reason; we might use a basic backpack one time, for example, or a specialist top-of-the-range Lowepro one another. Nonetheless, in some situations, you might want to hear your drone or whatever sounds are in the area that you are flying. For these situations, my recommendation is to install one of those apps that allow you to record your phone screen, together with the sound that the microphone captures.
The Fly More Combo includes a shoulder bag to carry the Mini 2 and extra gear to your shooting location, two additional flight batteries and more. The DJI Mini 2 and the DJI Mini SE are different enough that buying them should require some consideration. However, the Mini SE is hardly a major step down, as most first-time drone-fliers will get more than enough to fulfill their needs. This is a refurbished drone but came in original packaging.

From there, select the specific QuickShot you’d like to perform. Once your subject is illuminated by a green square, the drone will begin the QuickShot mode. DJI’s proprietary OcuSync 2.0 transmission technology delivers a reliable HD video feed from the drone at a max distance of 10km. The DJI Mini 2 is a superb drone for nearly any pilot.
Some people are unsure of whether they should buy the new DJI Mini 2 or its predecessor. However, it all depends on what are your needs, as both drones are amazing. Precise Flight with GPS, allowing it to return to home more precisely.
The first Mavic Mini received a massive upgrade last year which enabled things like the cinelike profile and added the ability to take RAW photos in addition to JPG. I hope DJI keeps adding more features to this drone, too, but as always you shouldn’t buy hardware today based on the hope of a software update in the future. It’s also part of the reason why this is a perfect drone for almost everyone. Usually when I take out the Mavic 2 Pro, I worry about ND filters, polarizers, and I try to keep the aperture at that sharpest f/5,6 – f/8 range. It’s almost like going from a fully manual SLR to a point-and-shoot camera. I basically just leave everything on auto without being too precious about the technical side of things, trusting that everything I get will actually be quite good.
DJI Mini 2 has five QuickShots for you to choose from, allowing you to create cinematic masterpieces with just a tap. Select the shot you want, and let Mini 2 do the rest. If you already have a Mini and the improved video system is not something you want, then the price may be off-putting. It’s also not going to work for you if night flying is your thing. The DJI Mini 2 builds on the success of the previous Mavic Mini, providing a much better video shoot quality, while retaining the straight out of the pocket flying capability. The included three bay charger is compact and holds the battery securely.
