Time to get my 12 year old Phillips shaver out of mothballs, Perfect shave. The only reason for updating to a Braun was that the Phillips shaver looked a bit worn. The older generation Braun Series 5 shavers come with a built-in slide-up trimmer. The trimmer is used for making precise trimming and outlining. But Braun left the built-in trimmer idea and used detachable trimmer technology in the new series 5. The new detachable precision trimmer looks like the dedicated trimmers.
I am only drawing attention to it because other brands of electric shavers do not contain this flaw. These are called charging studs and when they make contact with the included cleaning station, the battery will Braun Series 5 instantly begin to charge. Much simpler than plugging and unplugging the charging cord from your shaver. The cleaning station is essentially a dock that cleans, charges and lubricates your electric shaver.
A few noted that it only managed to achieve a close shave from short stubble. Press the small button in the middle and slide upwards whilst the main razor is running.
