As far as using lock up power as a judge of how good a brake is, a locked up skidding tire has less Huffy Nel Lusso stopping power then a slowed tire. The main thing I’ve noticed since I switched is I have way more control with the V-brake then I did with the coaster.
In the mean time, I’m going to work on the brakes, fender reinforcement, and engine mounting. I’d like to paint the tank and some of the components too… If the tires are $25 plus ship then with the wide wheels the bike is a pretty good deal. I didn’t take any pictures of the Huffy last night before I took the wheels off but here’s what it looks like with the wheels and tires I had on my stretch.
