Our assessment of the carry bag is that it is good enough to keep the drone safe when placed in a backpack. We would normally have used a very similar bag for equipment – we have two identical Manfrotto ones – and these are, admittedly, better padded. But if you’re a careful person, the DJI bag is definitely adequate.

There are aftermarket chargers that can get a recharge done much quicker if you have greater needs. I do not carry the charger in the case as there is no need in the woods and it will not fit. If I really need the charger, I can carry it seperately.
Today DJI releases an updated version with a new simpler name. If you do not wish to use the controller, you can connect your smartphone to the drone via Wi-Fi. Your connectivity range will be vastly reduced, and the controls will be less effective, but you can operate by phone alone if you desire. The DJI Mini 2 uses the DJI Fly app for your Android or iOS device. The remote control can hold most smartphones with the built-in clamp, but you’ll need an adapter if you wish to connect a tablet.
