Schwinn® Indoor Cycling

The IC4 has loads of handlebar and seat adjustment, both vertically and horizontally, to dial in the fit. You can do manual workouts, or you can sync your device to follow along with Peloton and Zwift workouts. Heavy duty leveling feet keep the bike level during all types of workouts.

With a Q factor of 162 mm, and smooth belt drive, our drivetrain provides a comfortable ride that users will love. The SC 5 bike combines user-focused features, best-in-class biomechanics and a high degree of adjustability to deliver the optimal bike fit for riders of all shapes, sizes and abilities. To maintain uncompromising quality ride after ride, the SC 5 features a patent-pending bottom bracket that exceeds industry standards, rust-defying materials and rock solid construction. Our patent-pending, durable, threadless Morse Taper design keeps the pedals fastened tightly to the bike and prevents breakage. The Schwinn Fitness 800IC is a magnetic resistance stationary exercise bike, which is compatible with most indoor training apps such as Zwift, Peloton, Rouvy and others thanks to its Bluetooth connectivity.

schwinn spin bike

TMPerformance Plus, is designed to enhance rider comfort with micro adjustable seat and handlebars, a wider step-through and durable, covered stretch pads – all surrounded by a rust-free aluminum frame. Using a traditional chain drive, it provides an authentic riding experience indoors. The Schwinn IC4 impressed us with its excellent exercise quality that is suitable for all fitness levels. This spin bike is stable and sturdy, with a 40 lb weighted flywheel and 100 micro-adjustable levels of smooth, quiet magnetic resistance. It can be used as a stand-alone spin bike with manual workouts or connected to popular apps like Peloton and Zwift, as well as the included JRNY app membership) for a studio or interactive virtual training experience.

When harsh weather or a crazy schedule drives your workout inside, just hop on the IC3 for a high-energy, low-impact training experience that will have you feeling like you’re riding through rolling hills. With a generous LCD console, a 40-pound flywheel and infinitely variable resistance, this bike offers incredible value for the serious cyclist. While the Assault AirBike Classic is not a traditional indoor cycling bike, per se, it’s still a great option if you’re looking for a total-body HIIT workout. This exercise bike comes equipped with padded handlebars, a fan, and a crank to adjust your resistance. The console offers different workout programs and even tracks your heart rate, calories burned, and distance.

It doesn’t have Bluetooth connectivity and is not compatible with apps like Peloton or Zwift. You’re connected and will now be able to see your cadence on your device. The pedals have duality – one side has SPD clips for cycling shoes and the other has a caged toe for regular shoes. I like this option because not everyone wants to purchase separate cycling shoes. The bike weighs 106 pounds and has a weight capacity of 330 pounds. If you are of average strength, I think you can move this by yourself with the attached wheels.

Spin workouts are typically high intensity and focus on cadence and resistance instead of distance or power. The Peloton app is a bit different since their studio workouts are based on spin bikes using cadence, resistance level, and perceived effort. The Schwinn’s resistance levels aren’t an exact match of Peloton’s, although there are helpful tips online for converting resistance from Peloton to the IC4. That said, it is up to the user to dictate the huffy beach cruiser resistance level and effort they put in when following along with a Peloton class anyway. The bike has the standard DualTrack console shared by similar-level Schwinn and Nautilus products, which has two sharp, backlit LCD screens loaded with 29 workouts. Unlike many of the bikes on our list that adjust gradually in difficulty at the turn of a knob, this model has 25 preset levels of magnetic resistance, which provides a nice range in difficulty.

It even has a system for personalized height, distance, and seat adjustments. Priscilla Perez, a Spin instructor based in Scottsdale, Arizona, tells SELF that the wider seat and base make for an exceptionally smooth ride. She also notes that since the handlebar positioning is at seat height, or slightly higher, it “forces you to engage your core throughout the workout and use your glute and hamstring muscles” for a full-body workout. This lightweight huffy beach cruiser stainless-steel bike offers a supersmooth ride thanks to its magnetic-resistance belt. “These are the bikes used in our indoor cycling studio ,” Molly Rockwell, a Florida-based Spin instructor at Ride Society Pensacola, tells SELF. “The ride is smooth, and it feels a lot like a normal bike you would ride outside.” Rockwell also appreciates that the entire bike is customizable to your size and how you like to ride, from seat to handlebar height.

Here, we asked indoor cycling instructors for the best exercise bikes to use for home workouts, and added some of our favorite SELF-approved models, as well. The bike also comes with 16 resistance levels, 13 programmed workouts, Bluetooth connectivity, adjustable handlebars, a padded contour seat, media rack, and LCD screen. There has been a surge in demand for the best exercise bikes, as more folk look to transform dusty corners or their home or garage into micro-gyms.
