Brunswick bought Mongoose to Pacific Cycle in 2000 and Pacific Cycle was purchased by Montreal-based Dorel Industries in 2004. By combining Pon.Bike and Dorel Sports, a leading bicycle company on the planet shall be created, with a mixed revenue of around 2.5 billion euro. Mongoose is a model name of bicycles initially mongoose mountain bicycles designed, manufactured, and sold by BMX Products, Inc. RECO was a wholly owned manufacturing division created for insurance functions to be separate from BMX Products, Inc, despite the precise fact that RECO was all the time produced in-house.

It was headed by Vice President of Manufacturing Hoppy Brooks, in his attempt to market motorcycle frames.
