The Airstream Weber® Q®1200 Gas Grill

On the plus side, according to customer accounts, hotspots – areas on the grill that are significantly hotter than others, aren’t an issue. The heat from the burners is spread across the grates pretty evenly. The major difference between these models is that the Q1200 has a thermometer built into the grill lid.

These negatives mostly seemed to be customers whom were surprised by the grill’s limitations. The other complaints were mostly from customers with one-off defects. Still, there are many customers whom are satisfied with their purchase.

Most grills have “Flavorizer Bars” above the burner tubes that serve several purposes, one of which is protecting the burners from grill debris. There are no Flavorizer bars on the Q 3200 which means the burners are directly exposed to anything that drips down from the cooking grate. This direct exposure leads to clogging of the burner tubes. The weber charcoal grill body of this grill is cast aluminum and the cart and frame are plastic. These materials of construction make the grill perfect for use by the pool or in coastal regions where the high salt concentration quickly corrodes grills made of steel. Overall, you will find Q2000 to be as durable, sturdy, tough, and easy to maintain as the previous models.

But behind that weight, you have a glass-reinforced nylon frame, supporting a cast aluminum body and lid, that cover a porcelain-enameled cast iron cook surface. All of these are heavy-duty, making the Q 1200 sturdy, durable, and likely to last a very long time. The Weber Q 1200 is a unique portable grill option, mainly in terms of design. A single, U-shaped burner puts out 8,500 BTU to efficiently heat the porcelain-enameled, cast-iron grill surface.

weber q1400 has been designed with all the best materials to prevent rusting, increase durability, better heat retention, and lower maintenance. Such that, the body is made from lightweight cast-aluminum, the cooking grates have been porcelain-coated, and the nylon frame has glass reinforcement. The construction of the grill makes it tough as well as stylish. The Q2200 has just one stainless steel burner with an output of 12,000 btu’s per hour that is capable of heating a 280 square inch grilling surface. The Weber Q3200 has a grilling surface of 393 square inches. Unlike the Q 2200, the 3200 has two stainless steel burners with an output of 21,500 btu’s per hour.

The control knob, integrated into the regulator unit, is well-defined relative to propane output and easy to adjust. We purchased the Weber Q 2200 so our review could put it to the test in her kitchen. The Weber Q 2200 Gas Grill makes it easy and convenient to grill on the go, but it’s spacious enough for everyday home use, as well. Register your grill and gain quick and easy access to manuals, replacement parts and warranty. Grease is funneled into the catch pan for easy cleanup. Small enough to grill on-the-go, with enough grilling space to execute an entire meal.

From camping to the tailgate, the Weber Q 1200 Gas Grill offers portability and easy ignition so you can grill everywhere you go. This model, like the Q1400, is operated electrically. Such that, you do not have to worry over gas cylinders or charcoals anymore. It uses 1560-watts of power for its heating element and can heat up to 280 square inches of cooking space in no time. Added to this, it comes fully assembled and features infinite burner control for easier maintenance of the grill’s temperature. Turn your campsite into your kitchen with the Weber® Q® 2200™ Gas Grill.

Without some significant weight added — like a rock — you can expect that this drip pan will pick up and fly away with the first significant gust of wind. From there, it was simply a matter of checking the drip pan. In the weeks that I used it, the disposable tray only needed to be emptied once, and I simply lined it with heavy-duty aluminum foil as a makeshift tray. However, if you prefer the perfect fit of Weber’s disposable tin trays , you can get replacements for quite cheap.

Last, but certainly not least, we wish this model came with a latch to secure the lid. Though it doesn’t solve the issue, the cast aluminum lid is at least heavier than most, so it doesn’t bounce around much during normal travel. But if you’re planning on four-wheeling into your BBQ site, consider using a bungee cord to help secure it.
