With so many features to love, we are a little disappointed that there’s no display on the bike for tracking miles, calories burned, and other tracking details. While many of today’s top-of-the-line indoor bicycles have most of these features, the Schwinn Fitness AC Performance Plus Indoor Cycling Bike has all of these features.
The Schwinn IC3 Indoor Cycling Bike is a super popular, sturdy spin bike at an affordable price. If you’re someone who is comfortable working out at your own pace and knows how to guide your own workout, this bike is perfect for you. It doesn’t have the fancy computer that other bikes may have, but it does have a small system which keeps track of your time and vitals. This is a solidly built bike that comes with adjustable options and padding to make sure that you can focus on burning a sweat while feeling comfortable. The Schwinn IC4 comes with a small LCD display and syncs to the device of your choice with a Bluetooth connection for use with the Peloton, Zwift, and JRNY apps.
Higher-end indoor cycles usually give you the option of using cleats if you prefer. Using cleats attaches you to the pedal, making you more efficient and letting you pedal faster than you probably could otherwise. This bike comes standard with Schwinn’s double link pedals which include a cage for use with sneakers and SPD compatibility.
However, while it’s more affordable than the Schwinn 170 Upright, the Schwinn 130 has fewer resistance levels and programmed workouts. It also lacks certain features, including a USB port, forearm rests, and built-in speakers. While some are more affordable or geared toward beginners, other models come equipped with advanced features, including LCD screens, charging ports, dumbbells, and multiple user profiles. As a result, Schwinn has an option to suit riders of all fitness levels.
The IC4 has an included heart rate monitor band and 3 pound dumbbells, which the IC3 does not. The IC3 uses friction pads versus the IC4, which uses magnetic resistance and is generally quieter. The max weight is also higher for the IC4 as opposed to the IC3 . I connected my Schwinn IC4 with an Apple product so I can’t personally speak to how it works for any Android device.
