DJI Phantom 4 review

This is about as close as you can get to the drone with the objct sensors activated. If you move closer to it, the drone will move away to avoid you. TapFly – Using a mobile device again, you can tap the area that you want the Phantom to go to, and it will go there. Quick connector for light sensor accommodates fast field replacement/removal by the user.

On smaller sites (5-10 acres) the difference between the dji mini 2 fly more combo Pro and the Phantom 4 RTK is negligible in terms of the number of control points needed. But, as the size of the site increases, the Phantom 4 RTK quickly differentiates itself from the Phantom 4 Pro. If you work on sites larger than 20-acres, then the Phantom 4 RTK is the clear winner. Alternatively, you could get away with shooting one GCP if you were flying the same mission with the Phantom 4 RTK.

Aerotas has developed a workflow that enables surveyors to lock the relative accuracies in photogrammetry processing and shift the entire project to match a single ground control point. This ensures full-site accuracy without the need for manual PPK processing or ground control distributed throughout the entire site. Fewer ground control points translate to significant time savings in the field. A simple small-size landfill was chosen for testing purposes to recreate the conditions we think Phantom 4 is most suitable for.

At any point in time, you can easily and quickly hit this button on the Remote Controller to bring the drone back home safely and quickly. You see, I was coming at the tree from an angle that could’ve been outside of the OSS’s visual range. It senses what’s in front of the Phantom, not above, to the sides or behind it.

The base station also includes a charging station and two sets of batteries, as well as a remote control, telemetry module, and an anemometer to gauge wind. Data sets from all three flights were imported and processed separately. dji drones supports writing GPS coordinates to EXIF data of every individual image on the fly. It means no manual geotagging is needed when importing images to 3Dsurvey for processing. Further quality control was achieved by placing GCPs and establishing independent validation points.

The drone will maintain the recorded height during flight and ascend when the slope rises. However, the Phantom 4 Pro will not descend in downward slopes. TapFly Backward – Tap to fly in the opposite direction of the tap, i.e. tap in the bottom right corner of the screen to fly backward towards the top left.
