Greenworks also includes a high-lift set of blades in the kit which produces better results when bagging at the expense of some runtime. One odd thing we noticed while cutting was that you can’t instantly roll backward when needed. You first have to push the mower forward a little bit to disengage the drive. This can be frustrating when you need to do this rapidly over and over again in corners and near obstructions.

Greenworks was thoughtful enough to include headlights on the Pro 60V Lawn Mower—headlights! The LED lights are bright and can allow extra minutes at dusk to finish mowing a lawn. The lights are bright enough to mow in the dark if you want without disturbing anyone. But that’s not recommended in bug-infested Florida, so I don’t. Note that the lights are always on—there is no on/off switch.

The benefit is a mower that produces less heat, is quieter, and generates better performance. As I mowed by lawn, I could tell when the motor revved up in thick grass and revved down in thin, lower grass. Before cleaning the mower, unclogging or removing the grass bag, mulching insert, or side discharge chute, turn the motor off and wait until the blade comes to a complete stop, then remove the battery pack. The cutting blade continues to rotate for a few seconds after the motor is shut off. Never perform these functions until you are sure the blade has stopped rotating. A freshly cut lawn goes a long way to giving your property a neat, well manicured look, but it takes a lot of work to keep it looking that way.

I used the Greenworks 60V PRO to cut up two medium size Maple trees in my yard. The 16″ bar combined with the brushless motor made quick work cutting up both trees. This saw actually cuts a bit quicker than some of the other saws I’ve used. However, it does seem to “bog” down a bit easier as some of those though.

We could see the Greenworks Pro being a great option for those with decks and outdoor furniture. Having no cord to get tangled up on would make that sort of clean-up a lot easier. We also think it’d be great for someone with a patio or porch that needs frequent sweeping. It’s as easy to grab as a broom, but it does the work in a fraction of the time. And because it’s so quiet, we don’t think it’d disrupt the neighbors if you used it several times a week.
