Weber Genesis II 300 Series Premium Gas Grill Cover

The 2017 model year marks the beginning of Genesis II gas grills being made in China, just like Spirit gas grills have been over the past few years. One was a 2-burner model, two were 3-burner, and portable bbq one was 4-burner. The Weber Genesis II E-210 carries on the company’s legacy of quality in a compact, two-burner format small enough to fit comfortably on most space-challenged patios and decks.

Both the grill’s cast iron grates and lid are enameled in porcelain too. My only complaint, a minor one, is Weber’s choice to use some plastic in the E-310’s construction. The ends of the grill’s side tables are wrapped in gray plastic bumpers that cheapens its appearance. Still, the lid does have a large built-in thermometer, a Weber standard feature the Char-Broil SmartChef Tru-Infrared lacks. All of the grills in the Genesis II E series have an open cart, a porcelain-enameled lid, and porcelain-coated cast-iron grates.

Weber’s Genesis grills feature a sturdy stainless-steel construction for the frame, side tables, and burners. All are equipped with heavy-duty steel lids, and the lids in the E series also feature a porcelain coating that helps to protect portable bbq the grill while locking in the heat. Made in China labelSad, but true, 2016 is the last model year in which all Weber Genesis grills can say, “Made in the United States of America with globally sourced parts and components”.

IGrill is Weber’s bluetooth thermometer system, complete with phone app so you can monitor what’s happening on your grill without even being there. The device needs to be purchased separately, but the Genesis II grills are already outfitted to receive the temperature probes. You have your flavorizer bars, catching some of the grease drip and turning it into delicious smoke to really give your food that barbecued taste. Looking towards the bottom though, the enclosed cabinet standard on the old Genesis grills is gone, and you now have an open design. The closed cabinet has now been moved exclusively to the Genesis LX series, a luxury series of grills that feature a lot more bells and whistles.

If you’re a DIY problem-solver, head to their website and download the manual and schematics for a start. If that doesn’t help, review the FAQ section to see if someone else had, and solved a similar problem. You can also optionally purchase this grill — as I did — with the GBS grate system.

With two of three burners going on a windy day, this is a big flop. The Weber Genesis II line is made in Made in North America where as the Spirit II is made overseas. A distinct difference is the lid, the Genesis II lid is double insulated steel whereas the Spirit II is much thinner.

I spent 25 minutes fussing with the burner knob every few minutes, at which point I gave up, feeling like I was driving a boat that just didn’t have the power to sail upwind. This is the base model of the Genesis II barbecue grills. Some of the most important information you will need to get includes the grill features that you are considering. Sear, roast, bake, steam, and even stir-fry by simply replacing the grate with a variety of custom-fit grillware. Two levels of cooking grates nearly double the grilling space, giving you plenty of room to cook a full meal – apps, sides, and main course – all at once. Weber Connect® smart grilling technology is your secret ingredient to perfectly portable bbq grilled food; whether striving for that perfect medium-rare steak, or experimenting with a new recipe. A few days later, when it was warmer and less breezy, I tried again. It took took 20 minutes post preheat, but I finally hit my 225 degree benchmark using just the left burner. More than that, though, was too much to ask of just one burner.
