The first thing to do is visit the Intex website and watch the instructional video for your pool. Intex ships new pools with an instructional DVD, but we didn’t have a DVD player on hand. It was much easier to pull up the videos on a portable tablet computer and have it at the site.
No matter your budget, you can usually find an Intex swimming pool that fits your needs. You may also want to consider a sturdier ladder and better quality cover. The ladder is wobbly, and the cover is thin and tears easily. If you’re looking for an economical pool to fit your tight budget, we recommend purchasing the kit as it comes, and upgrading the next year. You’ll have to be more careful on the ladder and spend more time manually skimming debris off the top, but you’ll still get many hours of entertainment. Most people know before purchasing a pool that there is a certain amount of maintenance required to keep one running at its best.
It’s quicker if you watch the DVD before you begin assembly. Some people think that remembering to turn on the pump and vacuum weekly is more work than the pool is worth. Those are usually people who don’t use the pool daily. People who use them a lot don’t mind the cleaning time. It’s still time in the sun and provides their family and friends with a lot of fun and entertainment.
First of all, you’ll want to research maintenance requirements. Most above-ground pools utilize an electric pump that circulates the water and keeps the water relatively clean. Some of the pools come with a pump and others you need to buy the pump separately.
First things first, let’s talk about what this swimming pool is. Comes with shell, filter pump, pool cover, and ground cloth. Larger models will include a removable ladder as well. Intex pools are convenient to set up, save on backyard space and cost only a fraction of the price of in-ground options. During this review, we managed to find the most durable frame pools. That’s why, if you’re looking for a capacious and lasting pool, try the Intex 16ft x 48in and Intex 24ft x 52in.
The second and third pools have reinforced prism frames. The last two models are the most durable Intex pools as their skeletons are made from ultra XTR frame. Intex 12ft x 30in is a model whose metal frame requires disassembling during cold seasons. However, other prism and ultra frame basins can be left up through winter. Just drain your pool and use a pool cover to protect the bottom from debris.
If don’t want to futz around with attaching the cleaner to your pool, make things a little easier with a rechargeable manual vacuum. It uses internal power instead of your pool’s filter system to clean. Push it along the bottom and the debris gets sucked up into a filter bag inside the cleaner. It’s a Dustbuster for your pool, without the ’70s haircut. Monitoring and adjusting pH and alkalinity levels is just as important with Intex pools as any others. Don’t let the convenience or its potentially temporary installation fool you.
Given its simple design and DIY construction, your Intex pool probably won’t have some of the more advanced problems you might encounter with other pools. Alas, no pool’s perfect, and you might intex frame pool find yourself with a torn liner, a malfunctioning filter pump, or a broken support pole, to name a few examples. If any granules settle to the bottom of the pool use brush to disperse them.
