Cuisinart Stainless Steel 15-Piece Block Set Review

Luckily my mom have one of those cutting board. Dont know if she uses this board every day, but as she told me they work just fine. Another reviewer sums it up, saying her set Cookware Sets of Cuisinart knives has “made cooking so much more enjoyable…” Henckels knives are sharper with a 30-degree cutting angle, while Cuisinart’s are sharpened to 44 degrees.

Riveted handles like those of the Classic series add both weight and durability. The only way to decide whether a Cuisinart knife is right for you is by comparing it to knives from other brands. That’s why I recommend paying close attention to the following six aspects on each of Cuisnart’s knives. Each criteria will give you greater insight as to the sort of knife you need, and how much you should budget for it.

Two Henckels collections, Modernist and Graphite, have stainless steel handles. Cuisinart knife sets include two sets of knives — the basics included in every set and the optional knives that round out a given set. The best Cuisinart knife set is the Cuisinart C77WTR-15P Classic Forged Triple Rivet 15-Piece Knife Set in White.

They cut differently, but I think they are not as easy to cut yourself and have a lighter touch. They come with nice cuisinart knife covers that would have to be removed for the magnet, though. I really like the covers to protect the blade .

Not sure myself as I have purchased this set too,but I would be inclined to write or call cruissant and ask them as they are the merchant.. I thought they were but they are metal as they stick to my knife magnetic board. Maybe, when I received them I had to sharpen them to use them. I was happy with the knives once they were sharpened. They were a bit of a disappointment when I received them. Using a dishwasher will damage your knives, I recommend hand washing.

Children should not handled these knives at anytime without adult supervision. While the edge on the chef’s knife is as thin as on an Asian-style knife for precision cutting, it has the shape of a western blade for heft. You’ll find it easily sails through a tomato, creating paper thin slices but also rocks back and forth for mincing garlic or herbs.

The additional steel in the center of the knife helps distribute the weight and makes for a comfortable, balanced grip. While Henckels offers more collections than Cuisinart, the company doesn’t feature as much variety in design; many of its collections look similar. While a stamped blade is thinner and more flexible, a forged blade is much more resilient, harder, thicker, and holds an edge better than a stamped blade.

The primary reason Cuisinart uses this steel is that it’s cheap. Using cheaper steel allows them to sell affordable knives, even if the edge retention, stain resistance, and overall quality suffer as a result. Henckels uses X50CrMoV15 stainless steel for all of its blades.

To keep your Cuisinart knives at their sharpest, hand wash each one and use a Cuisinart knife sharpener periodically to hone the blades. The chef’s knife is the most versatile tool in our knife block sets, with its broad and sharp blade. It’s perfect for everything from chopping vegetables to slicing herbs. Our utility knives, known as the “sandwich knife,” also make light work out of cutting baguettes.

These forged well-balanced knives aren’t as heavy as the Wusthof’s, which will make them more comfortable for some cooks. The only time the light weight is a bit of a disadvantage is when it comes to hacking through an acorn squash or a chicken leg.
