The higher the wattage, the faster it can cook. Hamilton Beach microwaves typically have 700W to 1,200W of power. Models with less than 700W tend to cook slowly and may not produce even results. A microwave with 1,000W or more is ideal. All Hamilton Beach microwaves are countertop models. They’re affordable and require no special installation.
You would think that a over $70.00 microwave would last longer than a couple of months or even a couple of years. I contacted Walmart’s home office and suggested they stop carrying this product. I contacted Hamilton Beach as well and all they could do is give frigidaire gallery dishwasher me an apology. I’ve had issues with other Hamilton Beach products in the past, their blenders are pieces of crap, took it back to Target and got a refund. I will NEVER purchase anything made by Hamilton Beach ever again, I suggest no one else does either.
I called Walmart, they advised there has recently been an extension of return policy on this particular microwave from Hamilton Beach. I returned it for a full refund and will never purchase another product from this company. It’s 900 watts and performs almost as well as an 1100 watt appliance. It’s great for steaming vegetables as well as reheating and light cooking. Had it 2 1/2 years now and am still very happy with it. Measured capacity is the usable space based on our measurements, and excludes the corner spaces for models with rotating turntables.
It would be nice to have a bit more space inside, otherwise it is a very clean design and heats food thoroughly and completely. Every time, it heated the food in the same amount of time it would have taken the Frigidaire, proving to be just as powerful with its 900 watts. We got this microwave at a very nice price and since then it works with no problems. The unit is very easy in use and it does the job that it’s suppose to.

When we chose one, the microwave started a 6-minute cook timer. The final result was a yummy baked potato—it was a touch overcooked on the bottom, but the potato we used was also on the smaller side. I love the matte black style, small size goes well in any kitchen. My one issue is the beeping that keeps going even when you open the door. Maybe it’s not the most spacious microwave out there, but we never had any issues fitting a dish or plate inside it. Plus, it offers a variety of cook settings that work really well, especially given its low price. After all, many microwaves cost hundreds of dollars, so why is this one so affordable?
