At least with the Studio3 Wireless, I find the product not only visually appealing, but have to applaud it from a sound perspective as well. In addition to the headphones themselves, the stylish outer packaging includes a USB charging cable, as well as an additional audio cable that allows the Beats Studio3 to be operated via mains power. The noise-canceling of the Studio3 Wireless certainly worked, but much like every other aspect of the headphones, it just wasn’t as good as other models. At the time of writing this review, Bose had just released their QuietComfort 35 IIs , which had flawless noise-canceling, and objectively better sound quality.
Their ANC feature is also one of the best on the market and blocks noticeably more background noise than the Beats. On the other hand, the Beats will be slightly better-suited for bass-heavy genres, and they leak less than the Bose. They also have an in-line microphone for calls, which the Bose are lacking. The battery life of the Beats is about three hours longer than the Bose, but they don’t have a power-saving feature.
The Beats have a slightly better-balanced default sound than the Plantronics. They’re also more comfortable, portable, and have a sleeker design beats solo pro wireless that’s stable enough for the gym and sports. The Plantronics, on the other hand, have a better wireless range and battery life than the Beats.
Multipoint allows you to link to more Bluetooth devices and switch between them. For example you can easily switch calls from one device to another without having to manually disconnect and reconnect. It is capable of a very high bitrate of 990kbps, which provides high resolution audio. It can also automatically adjust to a lower bitrate of 330kbps or 660kbps to increase stability.
Using Apple’s W1 chip, connections are the easiest and most useful part of the Studio3 Wireless. Having said that, it’s almost sad that proximity pairing and connectivity is the only good thing about this pair of headphones. It’s also worth noting that newer products, like the aforementioned AirPods Pro, use an even faster chip to connect. The Sony WH-1000XM3 Wireless are better headphones than the beats solo pro wireless Wireless.
Listening to the NC itself, with no music, the circuitry does produce a very slightly audible hiss, but this is typical, and you won’t notice the hiss with audio playing. The headphones also do a decent job of tamping down loud sounds and even quiet some speaking and chatter in the room. But this is not the best noise cancellation we’ve heard—Bose still takes top marks in that regard.
