The open cart, or open frame design of the Spirit II doesn’t appear to be offered in the Spirit line. While the closed cart with doors design appeals to many, in my opinion, it is prone to rust. Once the cart is shot, grills tend to find their way to the landfill rather quickly. The open cart design allows for humidity to escape, keeping it dry. Weber seems to be leaning towards the closed cart design, as most of their gas grills, both natural gas and propane, are this type. Weber may have addressed the issue as well, as the newer closed carts have better ventilation.

The one difference that makes any difference at all between these grills is that the Flavorizer bars on the E215 are stainless steel while the ones on the E210 are porcelain enameled steel.
So please make sure when you are assembling/disassembling, that you don’t accidentally touch the metal parts of the spit with your hands. It’s definitely worth doing when you have some spare time (not during competition because you have to turn the meat so much and can’t leave it unattended for very long). However, because it features three separate burners, it’s possible to set up multizone cooking. The app will alert you when grilling is done and it’s time to eat. This lets you step away from your grill and mingle with your guests or tend to other food that needs your attention.
My last propane grill, a Genesis Silver B with an open cart has lasted over 20 years, and I passed it on to one of my kids. The Weber Spirit II E-310 is a pretty decent grill overall (compared to other Weber grills that I’ve used), but be careful about using it if you want to do any sort of smoking or searing/grilling. To monitor the cooking temperature, we generally don’t rely on thermometers built into the hood. Instead, we placed our digital thermometer in the middle area, and it registered a cooking temp of 295°F.
Both series have come in handy as they are preferred due to their durability and good quality, even if they are more expensive than other grillers in the market. We will focus on Weber Spirit Model E-310 and Weber Spirit II Model E-310, weber spirit 2 which are popular in the market. If you plan on doing some low & slow smoking along with moderate searing/grilling, then I would recommend getting a different grill such as the Weber Smokey Mountain or some sort of pellet smoker.
With the lid closed, the barbecue dimensions are 113cm height x 122cm width x 69cm depth, making it a fairly bulky piece of equipment that requires a large area to park up once both shelves are erected. Despite this being a hefty grill, the weight wasn’t weber spirit 2 an issue, rather the shape of the barbecue. That might be important to you if you are looking for the grill with the smallest footprint. The Spirit II E 210 comes equipped with a slot on the right side table to accept an iGrill3 remote temperature monitoring system. The propane tank placement in the cabinet of the E 215 is awkward. The tank fits fine but if you have bad knees then you will hate changing out tanks. By the way…both of these grills have the same “black” color.
The grill is equipped with two tires to allow for easy transportation, and they are constructed to be used in all weather types. If you want a small grill that’s also highly portable, you may also want to consider the Weber Traveler, which comes with a collapsible cart.
