You no longer have digital access to ratings and reviews. Most grills have a mechanical igniter of either the push-button or rotary design. More convenient is a battery-operated electronic igniter, which usually ignites the gas on the first try. Some grills also have lighting holes, on the side of or beneath the grill, that can be used with a match should the igniter fail. Located on the propane tank or the grill itself, this reveals at a glance how much propane remains in the tank. While burners remain the grill’s most-replaced part, most are warranted for only 3 to 5 years.

Max bottles his own barbecue sauce recipes and now sells them around the country. Webers are not cheap, but when you consider that they last decades, the price is easy to justify. Many some cheap grills fall apart after three years or so.

The twin probes monitor the internal temperature of two cuts of meat, with the option to add two more probes. With no charcoal or wood to worry about, even first-timers will soon get the hang of cooking on this weber spirit 2 grill. This could mean searing on one very hot section of the grill and then finishing on another, cooler section. Or, you can use convection to roast or slow cook meat for many hours over indirect heat.

If you notice on all those photos above, Weber has put a warning label right next to the ignition button stating not to touch the polycarbonate plastic shell when hot. The propane tank installation however was a bit confusing . But I’m not an expert in gas grills so this may be standard. You should also clean your grates after each cooking session to keep them from deteriorating. For the Flavorizer Bars, take a gentler approach; remove stuck-on debris with a plastic scraper and only use a stainless steel brush if absolutely necessary. Likewise, use a plastic scraper on the heat deflector and the interior of the cook box.

It’s a lot cheaper than other charcoal grills in the same class, but the quality and features are pretty similar. It has enough space for cooking food for huge parties and family gatherings, but it’ll also cook well enough on its own if you’re having a small get-together with 10 or so friends and family. For me, it’s a good compromise between space efficiency, portability, and affordability. Both of the grill series are made up of aluminium which is durable. They can withstand high temperatures of heat and high resistance to rust.

The burner is covered, so if you want to use the shelf, you still can. Personally, if we had to pick one upgrade, we would recommend going for the next option, which adds the Weber CRAFTED suite of upgrades. You start with the basic three-burner E-325 and go up from there.

Bare cast iron, however, must be kept oiled to prevent rusting. Such grates are also usually more difficult to clean than other surfaces. A red hot bed of fire on a charcoal grill creates a blend of radiant, convection and conduction heat that can out-sear most gas burners, particularly in this price range. Gas grill manufacturers often rely on cast iron conduction to amplify the gas burner heat and at least add some brown sear marks to food surfaces. Some grillers have discovered a cast iron pan or griddle on their gasser works even better and effectively sears the entire meat surface.

Area heating is very consistent, which is one of the complaints I had with my other grill. I’ve only had the Spirit II for a few weeks so I’m still learning and experimenting, but I’m looking forward to a long, happy and delicious relationship. Grilling selling season is basically over Sept is generally when these various chains dump on sales all the cheapo gas grills to get rid of inventory before the fall.

If you’d like something cheaper that also uses propane, then I would recommend going with the Weber Q 300 or the Weber Original Kettle Premium. They’re both pretty similar to this grill, but they’ll cost less and their materials are all made out of aluminum instead of stainless steel. The only problem is that they have smaller grills (300 sq. in.) and they’re not as sturdy, but I’m willing to make this tradeoff if it means getting a cheaper grill with similar features. The chicken was super juicy on the inside and perfectly charred on the outside! Just look at those marks along with all that smokey flavor from slowly cooking over those low & slow smoking wood pellets (a mix of Cherry & Hickory).
