A lot of decisions will be cost/profit based rather than feature/value based. I find that the E/S-210 to be extremely good cooking machines. As more of a collector than a rehabber, I would see this adding value to a nice ivory or maybe red or blue 3-burner Spirit II. I was moving it and broke a knob; Weber sent me a replacement… Even when choosing a griller, the type of material should be a key factor to have in mind. You should avoid situations where you often replace them with a new one.

You got to deal with analysts when your private not a problem. I know I can always replace internals for both for decades to come. Even if Broilmaster/Empire Systems went belly up, generic H burners and ceramic briquettes will always be available as will igniters. I can’t say the same for any of the newer Weber models. Didn’t they DC some Spirit cabinet models a couple years ago only to reintroduce them? I think Weber has too many models right now and that leads to confusion.

Here, you would want to consider a grill with a less overwhelming ignition system. Here it depends on the type of ignitor- whether battery-operated or electronic operated. Since we cook down on the grates, it’s always better to use your own digital thermometer and place a probe at the cooking surface. With their acquisition of iGrill digital thermometers, Weber is addressing this issue. Spirit II is “iGrill3 Ready” with a mounting place on the right side shelf for an optional iGrill 3 digital weber spirit 2 thermometer. This Bluetooth device enables you to place one digital probe at the cooking surface to dial up the correct oven temp, and one probe in your food to monitor internal meat temp. Surprisingly, however, there is no read out on the iGrill 3 itself. You need to use the app even when you’re standing at the grill.
