Weber Q 2200 Gas Grill Review: Worth the Hype

In our minds, the best means the highest quality, most available, easiest to use, healthiest, and safest products on the market today. BBQQueens.com is the trusted source for authentic world-class quality grilling equipment for those who desire to live the grilling lifestyle. We have reviewed all of the highly popular Series grills in the following article. This grill is easily big enough to cook for a family of four.

The grill has a dimension of 25.1×51.4×26 inches with the lids which shows that its larger cooking space does not affect its portability. The grill works on disposable liquid propane cylinders of 14.1 or 16.4 ounces and starts up by just pressing the ignition button. Apart from this, the infinite control valve setting allows you to control the temperature of the grill easily. With large control knobs, ergonomic handles, removable catch pans, and sturdy cradles, Q2000 is quite user-friendly. With an MSRP of $269, the Weber Q 2200 Gas Grill is definitely one of the more expensive portable gas grills you can buy. However, it’s also one of the largest and most powerful on the market.

While it doesn’t mean that ribs and similar foods are of the table, it can make it trickier to cook them. After all, grilling on a lower temperature doesn’t have nearly the same effect. The biggest issue here would be with the fact that there is only one burner. Now, given the size of the model this isn’t too surprising, but it does create a small issue when it comes to indirect cooking. A whole chicken or even a small brisket shouldn’t be too much hard work on this grill. Thus, you do have a few more options for what you can cook with the Weber Q2200.

Although it tops our list of portable grills, the 31-pound, 3.2 cubic-foot frame of the Q 1200 is best suited to your tailgate, apartment patio, or as part of your RV setup. Moreover, the cart contains a handy storage space for your tools with three hooks. It even features two large folding side tables that have been reinforced with glass for extra protection.

It has one shelf instead of two, but it does come with built-in tool hooks. So, in terms of cooking capacity, if you want to be able to cook more burgers at a time, opt for the Q2200. However, this extra cooking capacity obviously means that the Q2200 is the larger and heavier of the two. Even though these are smaller grills, Weber still made sure that there was some shelf space with two fold-out shelves on both grills. You can have a plate for burgers when they are done sitting on one shelf. You can have a stack of cheese slices on the other shelf too.

However, if you don’t mind the extra bulk and weight of a larger grill, then the Q2200 could be a viable option. It’s a great mid-range grill that’s great for home use but compact enough to take out about in certain circumstances. Weber also has a Q2400, which is actually an electric grill, not a bigger version of the Q2200. In 2015, Weber started offering different color options from Black, purple, orange, blue red and the standard titanium color. Expect to pay a premium for the sports logoed versions in most cases it is an additional $100 over the cost of the ones without logos. This grill product is available for local in-store pickup only. The only real difference is that the 2200 is a bit weber genesis 2 bigger and it has a hood thermometer. However, what I have seen of the 2200 makes it a good investment for you.
