Ozark Trail North Fork 12′ x 10′ Outdoor Wall Tent with Stove Jack, Sleeping Capacity 6 $299 00 + Free Shipping

So I called the company requesting new poles and a month later I have yet to see my new poles. If and when I buy a new tent, I will go with Ozark again, and will not buy it from walmart….if you watch a doc. Called “Walmart, the high cost of low prices” it will explain to you why the product there is so cheap. I have a design change suggestion but I do not see an email address anywhere; therefore I cannot submit it to someone who can do something about it. All and all for a cheap tent from Walmart I think it’s ok. I don’t know that I would recommend it for a beginner who doesn’t know his way around a tent.

What more descriptions do you need, my finger went on handle pulled it down it broke. The people who make your zippers should quit and get another profession. Your zippers are the worst in all camping gears I have bought. Overall this is a wonderful tent that has held up well to many years of family camping. The only drawbacks to this tent are that there is a weather protecting flap over the door zipper that is kept in place by an elastic band which causes the flap to pull in toward the zipper and snag occasionally.

It features more ventilation than the Alpha Tent above, and the windows can allow a breeze in. This is one of the best waterproof canvas wall tents for small groups and is very affordable. Families who regularly pitch their tent in rainy locales need a wind-fighting tent with a good-size vestibule for storing wet shoes and gear, as well as a full rain fly for added weather protection. The WHITEDUCK Alpha Canvas Wall Tent is our number one recommendation for anyone looking to buy this style of tent.

The bug protection is top-of-the-range, no-see-em mesh which will stop even the smallest gnats, midges, sandflies, or whatever else they are called around the world. On the roof is a reflective finish that helps to block UV rays and prevent it from getting too hot on a sunny day. The canvas is made from a 10.10 oz army duck 100% cotton canvas and treated for heavy rainfall, UV rays, and mildew. Although we wanted to understand the pros and cons of various tent materials, we didn’t want to get stuck in a “best is always better” philosophy, especially with regard to our picks for family tents. Both Olsson and Howe emphasized that a great family tent is one that gets more kids outside—which means one that’s affordable for most families.

Our other dome-style tent picks are structured with two main poles with added support from smaller brow poles. The Base Camp, by contrast, has four full-size aluminum struts weaved throughout it, somewhat like a basket. The Base Camp also offers superior privacy compared with our other picks—with or without the rain fly. So yes, the Ozark Trail is an absolute steal of a deal if you’re into the bell tent design, but there are a few shortcomings you’ll want to be aware of if you’re considering it. First, although it’s a great space to hang in good weather, the yurt’s ventilation struggles to keep up in serious heat. If you plan to use it during summer, you may want to consider taking advantage of its e-port to run a tent air conditioner.

It comes with everything you need and is made to a slightly higher standard than other canvas wall tents. In terms of comfort and quality, it is unmatched and is one of the most popular options for glamping, ozark tent hunting, and base camps. To test the family-size tents, we planned a series of weekend camping trips with a total of 12 California families, all with kids between the ages of 9 months and 9 years.

That’s plenty of room for two queen mattresses with room left over for some chairs, a cooler, and a camp table. Speaking of camp tables Ozark Trail actually includes a small table with this shelter, which mounts at the base of the main support pole to make the most of the tent’s interior space. The table includes four large hanging mesh pockets at its sides, which, along with the multiple pockets found along the walls of the Ozark Trail Yurt, make storage and organization another high point of the tent. Wall tents are good in the wind; however, this is because the frames are so sturdy and not because they are designed exceptionally dynamically. Dome tents and most other tent shapes often perform better in the wind than wall tents do because they are lower to the ground and more aerodynamic, but when windy, they still flex and flap around a bit.

Note that these tents are strictly meant for car camping; the Base Camp 4 and the Base Camp 6 weigh 16 and 21 pounds, respectively, so you won’t want to carry either one very far. That’s especially true of the 2018 redesigns because you can no longer wear either tent’s storage sack like a backpack—you now have to sling it over one shoulder. Like almost all of the tent companies we asked, Eureka recommends that campers use a tarp or ground cloth for added protection.
