Roomba® Robot Vacuum Cleaners

We’ve tried several Eufy models, including the RoboVac G30 Edge, the RoboVac G30, and the RoboVac G20. The last is the newest model, but it’s our least favorite of the trio, and none are better than our top picks. We like the G30 models irobot vacuum cleaner best since they include very basic mapping, a 110-minute run time , a Cleaning History in the app, and more push buttons on top. The G30 Edge package adds boundary strips to avoid certain areas, which work but are a little ugly.

The S7 MaxV Ultra has the same sonic, vibra-rising mopping action of the S7, so it mops very well. But it also has AI-powered obstacle recognition, so it won’t get irobot vacuum cleaner caught out by clutter and can avoid stepping in dog poop. There’s also the option of using the onboard camera as a security camera, with two-way talk built-in.

With iRobot OS, you can choose to set your robot to automatically start cleaning when you leave and stop when you come home, so you only notice the clean and never the cleaning. We sent them on a normal run of the house cleaning run as well as runs with handfuls of cat litter on the floor and carpeting. Even the most advanced models can’t get into every crevice and hard-to-reach space, and they can’t vacuum upholstery, drapes, closets, drawers and kitchen cabinets, or anything else that isn’t a horizontal surface.

If you want to further minimize the spread of allergens, it’s fully compatible with a self-emptying dock that can suck debris from its internal dustbin into an external dirtbag without manual intervention. It beat out all the others in mapping, creating virtual boundaries and shark cordless detecting and avoiding obstacles, which means it’s the best “set it and forget it” smart robot vacuum — and it even empties itself. More importantly, it picks up dust and debris and cat litter from hardwood floors and low-pile carpeting better than the others we tested.

Self-emptying or not, most robot vacuums also equip small HEPA filters that capture allergens as they run. Most self-emptying models transfer the contents of their bin into a bag, which can hold around 30 to 60 days’ worth of debris, depending on how often you vacuum and how dirty your home is. The nice thing is that you never have to come into contact with dust and debris. The downside is that you eventually have to buy more bags when you run out.

Besides being one of the quietest and overall best robot vacuum models on the market, this small cleaning machine also boasts a manageable price point. It earned an Excellent rating from Consumer Reports for bare floors and carpets, and continues to impress customers with inclusions like free boundary strips. If you’re looking to spend as little as possible, the Roborock E4 is the best robot vacuum at a budget price that we’ve tested. Compared to the pricier Roborock Q5, it has a more rudimentary navigation system, which uses optical sensors and internal gyroscopes instead of LIDAR to determine its position. It can’t store a permanent coverage map of your home, so you can’t send it to specific rooms or set up no-go zones. That said, it still cleans in an organized, efficient manner and does a great job of avoiding getting stuck around furniture or hazards like coat racks.
