The Bissell multi-surface formula removes dirt and powers through stains and sticky messes for a thorough and streak-free clean. It washes the rugs by injecting a solution of water and multi-surface cleaner into the fibres while the rotating brush roll removes dirt and refreshes, leaving a nice smell. Safe an effective on multiple surfaces including tile, sealed wood floors, carpet, rugs, laminate, linoleum, rubber floor mats, pressed wood floors, and more. Cleverly, there’s a filter in the dirty water tank, which separates the larger bits of debris and pet hair from the water. You can just pull out this filter and throw away the dirt, pouring just dirty water away down the sink, without fear of causing a blockage.
It seems that the Crosswave Cordless Max models and Deluxe are the same machine except for what are included and the color. The 2596 is exclusive to Bissell, it offers some limited time free bonus and one extra year warranty. To be compared, this new self-cleaning cycle is much better than any manual cleaning trays in the past with other Crosswaves and similar machines. It weighs about 11 and a half pounds the same as the Corded version and it’s very easy to maneuver with its two-axis swivel. Obviously the fact that it’s cordless means it just feels a lot better using it without much worrying about the cord.
It charges for 4 hours and the manufacturer offers a charging station for that. One remarkable thing about this vacuuming mop from Bissell is that inspire of the battery being high capacity, you won’t be waiting for long before it charges fully. The battery is a lithium-ion, which means better performance and longer life. Once you release the trigger, the floor cleaner then sucks up the dirty water into the waste tank. The tank has a capacity of 0.55 litres, so you’ll likely have to empty it a couple of times for each full tank of cleaning solution.
For improved portability, the vacuum comes with an ergonomic carry handle. It makes transporting the unit around easy and the device usable by different members of your family. I should say that the CrossWave is an appliance that offers no challenge to operate. From maneuvering it around, carrying it upstairs and downstairs, to cleaning it after use, all the tasks are a breeze. Your floors will look great, no matter if they’re tile, hardwood, or carpet. Press the trigger when you’re on tile or wood, and the roller mops.
When on the carpet, just pause the spray and stick to the vacuum. The function is strong and the height of its head is just right. But be mindful to not get confused by the self-cleaning claim when you’re stacking it against other options. Its curved handle is long but not overreaching towards the direction of the user when cleaning. The 2554A is designed in a beautiful way that’s easy to hold and navigate on any floor. All vacuums have parts, but some of them are extremely hard to disassemble.

A dual-action brush roll and a two-tank water system means you only need one cleaning tool to tackle hardwood floors, carpets and area rugs. When mopping the floor, it’s hard to ignore the water in the bucket getting dirtier and dirtier as you put the mop in the bucket each time. Other than changing the water every few strokes of the mop, there’s not much you can do except clean with dirty water.
But if there is a lot of debris or anything particularly messy, it will be likely to get debris in every nook and cranny of the components and running. The cleaning cycle helps, but we need to break it all down to clean it up and in that case it would be easier just to grab a regular mop. It’s not a con necessarily, but Bissell claiming that the Crosswave can freshen up rugs seemed a bit cautious. It works on rugs and we can use the water spray on rugs, but it’s not a carpet cleaner or a spot cleaner for stains.
