When set to 450°F, the right side of the grill was significantly hotter than the left side, burning the wings on part of the grill before the other side cooked. This pellet grill did a fantastic job of holding temperatures at higher temps. Our chicken wings cooked evenly throughout the grill and resulted in a perfectly cgwm-081 crispy exterior when set to 500°F. Unfortunately, the Cuisinart struggled a little with holding low temperatures, and we had to set the grill to 210°F to maintain an even 225°F for the brisket. It didn’t produce as much smoke as some of the other grills, either, but it did result in a juicy and flavorful brisket.

The French doors allow full access to the cooking chamber while retaining the internal temperature. Each cook can be customized by adjusting the oversized, reinforced stainless-steel racks. Allow the cleaner to sit for at least 30 seconds to break down any dried grease or food residue. Use a meat thermometer to be sure food has reached a safe internal temperature. Never re-use marinade from raw meat or uncooked poultry on foods that have been cooked and are ready to be served. So in general, most pellet cookers will use between 1-2 lbs per hour when smoking. Place a small handful of pellets into the fi re pot. Squirt a gelled fi re starter, or other appropriate pellet starter, over the top of the pellets. The ash tray is located at the rear end of the Clermont, so you either need to leave the back easily accessible or move it around a bit each time you need to empty the tray.
