I was happy to put the Sun Joe SPX3000 Electric Pressure Washer to the test cleaning up my redwood deck and teak garden furniture. Machine was easy to use and the safety shut off feature is a plus. The SPX 3001 has plenty of power for an electric unit and more than adequate for home use.
Nice price at $120, it has 1900psi but only 1.5gpm. Same with the new on the market, Briggs & Stratton at $150, but once again nice psi at 1800 but a fall down in gpm at only 1.2. This unit is much lighter and more powerful than those and quite frankly – has better features. After seeing this electric powered, light weight, model I changed my mind about renting. In addition to the standard set of included accessories, both units also come with a garden hose adapter. Our rental house was built in the early 80s and I doubt that the patio had ever been cleaned.
When connecting a garden hose to the power washer, Sun Joe wisely uses a replaceable metal garden hose adapter. If you have any problems with leaks, you can replace the hose adapter for just a few bucks. The trigger handle is lightweight, easy to control, and didn’t make my hand ache. The whole system is easy to maneuver and move around the garden and I particularly like the product design that keeps all the parts contained on the unit. Because the unit is more vertical than horizontal, it has a fairly small footprint—a big plus if, like me, you have limited storage space. A pressure washer can make these jobs quicker and easier and also save water compared to using a regular hose.
