Usually, Google enforces new rules only for new apps (targeting the updated version of Android/API), but allows support of old API for legacy apps. Fly is not that new and doesn’t have to be treated as such. On the other hand, it’s a big app and size matters, so there may be more intricate reasons I don’t know… The DJI Mavic Mini can record footage in 24FPS, 25FPS, and 30FPS on 2.7K resolution, and 50FPS and 60FPS on 1080P resolution. I made the mistake of not learning more about the settings in the app and use my Mavic Mini to record footage during my trip in Thailand all in 30 FPS mode whereas my regular camera is set to 25 FPS. Again, the same goes for when you are traveling somewhere with your drone.

Be wary when using the auto setting as shooting whilst your cache is full may result in excess footage being deleted. The aircraft keeps the camera focused on the subject in the center of the frame and circle the subject at a slow constant rate and distance. This is dji drones an ideal QuickShot mode for showcasing an interesting perspective while highlighting a subject in the center of the frame. The aircraft will hover at a low, wide-angle viewpoint and then suddenly shoots upwards at a fast speed like a rocket lifting off into space.
Hopefully, this capability opens to everyone sometime soon so you can just do it all in the DJI app. It also doesn’t display dji fly airspace classes, which restrict pilots from flying. Other apps like Drone Buddy include some of these areas but not all.
