Weber Q Gas Grills

It might not be very well suited for a family of four unless you only plan on using it to cook meats and not veggies at the same time. If you have any problems at all with the Q 100, I highly recommend talking with Weber’s customer service. They are friendly and are very quick to resolve problems and send out replacement parts. The portable bbq 100 gas grill is covered by a fairly extensive warranty.

The Q Series grills are made from cast aluminum and heavy duty plastic which makes them immune to rust when used in coastal areas and near swimming pools. The Weber Traveler is a new portable gas grill that is a legitimate alternative to the weber genesis 2 series. The Traveler is large, but highly portable, and packs serious searing power. Yes that’s right Weber briefly made a charcoal version of the Weber Q. The configuration and price of the grill proved to not be very appealing to the customers.

The warranties on the two grills are just about identical with 5 year coverage for most components. The lower profile lid on the Traveler does mean that you will have to make some minor compromises when it comes to gilling large items. For example, you can fit a couple of whole chickens on the Traveler but you will need to spatchcock them first. I am not going to give exact prices in here because that changes on a regular basis. However, in general terms, the combined cost of the Q2200 and the cart is about $50 more expensive than the Traveler. I have been cooking on both a Traveler and a couple of Weber Q’s for months now and wanted to share my thoughts on a Head to Head comparison.

We put that phrase in quotations because the only thing that packs away are the side tables, which do conveniently fold up securely underneath the lid. My experience with both of these grills has been excellent. I don’t use them much anymore because I’m always testing new portable grills, but let me expand on that. Today I want to compare all the models you can choose from in the Series. Weber Q grills are some of my favorite portable grills, but there are quite a few differences between them. The cast iron grill grate itself is designed to cover the areas right above the burner, so I also noticed very few flareups and no smoking.

This grill holds up to three good size steaks, or 6 medium burgers. I’ve used it for veggitables, warming up buns, and for foil packets. Ease of Use Like any other grill, turn on the gas and light it up. Ease of Cleaning Clean while still warm, so any stuck on food comes off. Durability This grill travels with us on every camping trip.

Like other top models, this is all thanks to a single, U-shaped burner that effectively delivers heat across the range of the grill surface. The Weber Q 100 gas grill pairs a high performance cooking system and easy-grip handles to form a powerful yet portable gas grill. The Q1000 Series is lighter and more compact, while the Q2000 series has more grilling space and a taller lid. You will find a model in each series that has a built-in thermometer and folding side tables.

Though it’s available with the same Titianium colored lid that all other gas models have, it is also available in several other colors as well. Red, blue, orange, and green colored lids are all unique to the Q1200, but it also has a black model, similar to the electric versions. Go hiking in nature with a grill as vibrant as the scenery. Travel on or off the beaten path, camp in the woods or near the shore. Explore the world with big taste and your Q 1200 portable gas grill by your side.
