The shaver head can be locked in five positions. The battery symbol will flash red, when the battery Braun Series 5 is running low. With switching off the shaver a beep sound reminds of the low charge status.
Braun used innovative slim and SmartClick technology in the new generation of shavers and consequently, the Braun 5018s comes with a SmartClick trimmer. The trimmer attachment works like a regular beard trimmer. The electric shaver doesn’t have a precision trimmer to trim your sideburns and neck hair. You can shave your dense, full beard and create clean lines with the precision trimmer attachment.

Not all shavers in the Series 3 or Series 5 are 100% waterproof enough to take into the shower or be submerged. In terms of cleaning the shaver, the 5190cc has an included cleaning and charging station. The cleaning and charging station of the Series 5 is a 4-action unit.
The autosensing motor and super flexible shaving head make the shaving process comfortable even on sensitive skin. The shaver shaves efficiently with maximum skin care that feels really good to handle. Great Shaver I’ve always used regular razors myself, so this took some getting used to in the beginning. After my skin got used to it, I notice that it shaves well without irritating my skin. Because it has Easyclean, it is very easy to clean. What always takes a while with normal razors before you clean them, this device is already free of hairs after running under the tap for a while.
The shaving unit is identical to the one found on top of the Braun Series 7 (Model 790cc-4). Simply press the button in with your thumb while sliding upwards and the trimmer will spring right up. Even things like button placement and charging port are almost the same. Oh, and they feel near identical in the hand too.
Even though it’s not designed for head shaving it is still easy enough to use and gets a close shave. Each cleaning program consists of several cycles, where cleaning fluid is flushed through the shaver head. Depending on your Clean&Charge Station model and/or program selected, the cleaning time takes up to 3 minutes.
And even then I could make out some small dots of hair clippings here and there. A small water drop icon will appear on the shaver when it is beyond time to clean your shaver. You can just make out this icon on the shaver display in the picture above. If you want to keep using the cleaning station you will have to buy replacement cleaning cassettes as they run out.
