BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max review

The BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max is good for cleaning bare floors. It easily clears away pet hair as well as small and bulky debris on this surface type, with no significant loss in suction performance as its dustbin fills up. Its mopping function is also quite effective in dealing with dried-on dirt and debris. However, while it feels decently well-built for the most part, it does have quite a few components that need to be cleaned or replaced periodically, so recurring costs can add up over time. Designed to tackle everything from spilt cereal, milk, and coffee to muddy footprints left by family and pets.

It performs much better on carpeted floors with its multi-surface floorhead, is easier to maneuver, weighs considerably less, and has longer battery life. The shark cordless Max is a cordless upright hybrid vacuum/mop. Compared to the corded BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro, it has a less powerful motor that leaves it incapable of cleaning dense high-pile carpeting. That said, it’s easier to maneuver and does just as good a job when vacuuming debris or scrubbing away stains on bare floors.

Here, it picked up everything without dropping any grains back onto the floor, showing that this cleaner can easily cope with bigger debris. For cleaning, there’s bissell crosswave cordless a 0.83-litre tank that takes a mixture of detergent and water. There are handy fill lines for large and small areas, which means you won’t be wasting detergent.

When you’re ready to switch from carpeting to wooden floors, all you have to do is click a single button. There’s also a lever on the handle that’ll deposit extra cleaning solution onto a given surface if your space feels extra grimey. The CrossWave Cordless Max is the most feature-rich, premium of the CrossWave series, and is designed to vacuum and wash supported floors at the same time.

After using this machine you will want to press and hold the button that looks like a fan, just under the display, and it will begin a 30-second self-clean. You will still have to empty water tanks and clean brushes, but this does help along the way as it flushes out dirt, hair and debris from the appliance and brush roll. Once finished you’ll want to grab and empty both water tanks – be prepared for what you’ll find in the dirty tank – and with the dirty tank, remove the filter and clean it thoroughly. Then, take out the rotating brush bar and give it a good clean under your tap.

In fact I had to jiggle the machine around until the charging light came on. I wouldn’t say it’s a deal breaker but it sure is frustrating. A separate button activates the self-cleaning mode when the unit is mounted to the charger-cum-cleaning station. Even though being able to clean my wooden floors in one go is such a time saver, it does have one downside. After I mop with the Bissell Crosswave, my wooden floors stay damp for quite some time.
