BISSELL® CrossWave® Cordless Max 2554A Wet Dry Vac in 2022 Wet dry vac, Cleaning wood floors, Wet and dry

An easy to use multi-surface cleaner that vacuums and mops your floors simultaneously. For use on hard floors, carpets and irobot vacuum cleaner even rugs, it’s great for picking up pet hair and large debris. It’s also easy to use, and it cleans itself afterwards.

Well, once I purchased the Bissell Crosswave last year, I quickly found out the answer – Yes! I discussed last year how the Crosswave worked beautifully on my floors irobot vacuum cleaner and really made it easy to freshen up my space. We purchase our own vacuums and put them under the same test bench, so that you can compare the results easily.

The Bissell is the bees knees because the vacuuming and mopping can be completed simultaneously. It seems to leak a bit of the dirty water as it passes over the floor and gets collected and pools after Passover near my feet. Would be good if it also sucked while returning to feet. I usually steam clean and when I first used it I did a pass over with the crosswave and was stunned at how much more dirt there was left by the steam clean. The BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max doesn’t come with any attachments per se, but it does come with a 3-in-1 docking station.

They will still be damp, but not as wet as they would be after mopping. It’s also great for parents and pet owners, since it can vacuum up liquid-based mess, too, and it rids the need of getting out your vacuum and mop when something is spilt. No matter if you have carpeted or hard floors, or if you own several rugs or none, this multi-surface cleaner will definitely cut down the amount of time you spend cleaning. Although you may want to bear the weight of it in mind – especially if you’ll be carrying it up and down your stairs – and the high price tag.

I still have to schedule out time to make sure that my carpet gets a thorough deep cleaning. However, the Crosswave Max is a close second if you don’t have the chance to go through the work of shampooing. The BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max does a great job of sucking up water.

Running the cleaner through on vacuum mode, it picked up most of it when running the head along the skirting. Bissell says that the edge performance is 60% better here than on the CrossWave Cordless – and it would appear so; there was just a small trace of dirt left to be collected. This is much easier to maneuver and is much more quiet.

However the battery life keeps me from cleaning more than a room at a time. Also, I think it’s a little less powerful than the corded version but that was not a surprise. You can only do one wet and dry pass and with a little less power than the corded it really makes it harder to achieve efficient cleaning. The vacuum can be linked to the Bissell app so you can track battery life, and when to replace the filter, formula, and brush. It also has a hub for instructions, so you don’t have to hold on to the paper manual. Plus, the machine has a self-cleaning feature while in its charging dock to help keep the vacuum’s brush head in good condition.

No reaching for a mop and bucket, no dollops of elbow grease to release sticky substances. When you’ve finished, clip the unit into the awkward cleaning base interface, tap the clean button and watch in awe as the roller brush turns from filthy brown to a lighter shade of clean. The clean tank dispenses water and solution mixture with a pull of a trigger, while dirty water is removed from floors and stored in a separate dirty water tank. The biggest issue with this Bissell CrossWave is its abysmal, 30-minute battery life. During that time, the cleaning solution goes from hot to cold, making the next usage cycle less optimal in cleaning effectiveness. As such, you have to prioritize which areas you want this appliance to clean and which remaining places to manually vacuum/sweep and mop.

INCLUDES two Multi-Surface Brush Rolls, 2 trial size bottles of the Hard Floor Sanitize formula, 2 trial size bottles of the Multi-Surface Cleaner Formula, and a 3-in-1 docking station. It takes some muscle to care it from room to room and upstairs, which kind of hinders the beauty of how portable the vacuum is. If the self-cleaning feature wasn’t enough, the Bissel Crosswave Max has more to make it even more low maintenance. Let us know in the discussions if you come across another variant of this vacuum, and we’ll update our review.

Unlike dedicated dry vacuums and carpet cleaners, this appliance will not be as powerful as the aforementioned, but rather for general, daily use. The BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max 2554 and BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro each have distinct advantages, meaning one might suit you better than the other, depending on your needs. Both vacuums use similar detergent-dispersal functions and do a good job of dealing with dried-on stains as well as liquid spills. They’re also pretty similar in terms of dimensions and overall weight.
