These colorful editions appear to be getting phased out, so stock will be limited. While people may rate each of the Instant Pot models differently, this is how I like to think of them. The basic Instant Pot guidelines say that the 3-quart is good for 1 or 2 people, the 6-quart is for up to 6 people, and the 8-quart is for large families or big batches.

Therefore, you get 6 more functions for another set of “endless” recipe possibilities. While both devices have personalized programming, manual programs, and the same suite of safety functions, the Instant Pot Duo Nova actually offers several notable improvements over its predecessor. If you don’t want leftovers, go for the 3-Quart Instant Pot. However, if you like leftovers, cooking pot-in-pot , or two-fer meals (e.g., cooking roast one night then cutting it into beef tips and gravy the next night), I’d recommend the 6-quart.
The large display and multitude of buttons makes navigating the DUO Nova’s settings easy. In what we’ve found to be the most differentiating of our cooking tests, the saute test; the DUO Nova performed wonderfully. It got hot enough to easily instant vortex brown eve hearty veggies like carrots and made quick work of diced onions. We believe this ability is crucial; to effectively saute right in the pot vastly increases the number of meals you can make with only one dish to clean at the end.
