Review: Weber Genesis II LX Grill

Though about half the size of the four-burner Genesis grills, it offers the same robust construction and high-performance design. We parked this compact grill in a corner of our backyard and gave it a thorough workout over the course of about a month. Many gas grills also come in a natural-gas version, usually with a different model number that includes an “N” for natural gas.

With its shiny black enameled exterior with chrome accents, the Weber Genesis II E-210 looks handsome and solidly constructed. The built-in thermometer in the lid is large and easy to read. The propane tank gets mounted on the side, allowing for easier access as well as open storage under the grill. Two stainless steel side tables on either side provide room to place platters and ingredients, and both have three hooks to hang utensils. And if you don’t need both, the left side table folds down easily.

Danielle has been writing for The Spruce Eats since December 2018. All in all, it seems like the majority of people believe this is a great grill. People seem to be very happy with their services, claiming the company was super quick to respond and fixed their issues within a few hours to a weber q few days. I decided to test the response time myself, emailing Weber to enquire about warranty details. There was an email in my inbox in less than one hour, answering all my questions and more. For me, the flavorized bars made a huge difference, as I love foods with a hint of smoky flavor.

It easily mounts on the Weber Genesis II E-310 and will let you know via the mobile app on your smart device when the meat is done. Equipped with the GS4 high performance grilling system featuring infinity ignition,… The collection offers interchangeable cooking systems like a flat top, baking stone, sear grates, and more. If you select a Genesis II grill that has an open cart design, be forewarned that the catch tray will be left unprotected. That means it could be a target for leaves or other debris, especially if you don’t cover the grill in between uses. The grease tray might also attract rodents or raccoons if it isn’t cleaned out regularly.

Grill chicken on the main grates, sear steaks on the searing station, simmer barbecue sauce on the side burner and keep veggie burgers warm on the tucked-away warming rack. Every component was designed for ease-of-use and a satisfying grilling experience. The Infinity Ignition portable bbq ensures the burners light easily every time. Smoke-infused food grills evenly and consistently regardless of where it’s placed on the porcelain-enameled cast iron cooking grate. A doored cabinet and six tool hooks provide plenty of storage space for grilling essentials.

The Genesis II is powered by stainless steel burners that get more narrow towards the back of the grill. This shape reduces heat in the back, producing more consistent heat across the cooking surface. The burners are lit by a reliable push button infinity ignition and produce around 13,000 BTUs per burner on the 3 burner models, and 12,000 BTUs on the 4 burner models. I reviewed a grill in the LX series, which comes with a few more BTUs of heat and some additional bells and whistles. You can find similar features in other grills or buy them as after-market add-ons, but having them built into the model is a nice touch.

Both take up about the same amount of space on a patio, and both have side tables that fold down . But Weber mounts its propane on the side, under the table, which frees up space under the grill for storage. Char-Grill has an enclosed cabinet under the grill for the propane weber charcoal grill and other storage. Press the big round knob, turn it to the left to the lightning bolt symbol, and press the ignite button. And if our three-year-old, three-burner Weber Genesis E-310 is any indication, it’ll keep starting up like a champ for many years to come.
