The Weber Traveler portable gas grill didn’t disappoint and I think this a solid value at $325. It’s a sturdily built unit that comes together in a snap and is completely user-friendly to boot. If you’ve never grilled a single day in your life, I still don’t think you have any problems assembling and operating this grill. The Traveler got and stayed nice and hot and controlling the temperature — while not perfectly precise — was fine for the type of grilling most people do. It’s also large enough to be your permanent, everyday home grill.

You can call the Q2200 portable if you want but there are no lid latches on the grill, it is a pain to carry and the optional folding cart is incredibly flimsy. Both grills are solidly built but with very different materials. The Traveler is sleeker than the Q series with a lower profile lid.
The cooking surface is similar in size to grills found in many campgrounds. We purchased the Q1200 on the recommendation of other campers. We have a larger Weber grill for home use and felt good about the quality of Weber products based on our past experience. I recommend this grill for couple or small families, especially campers. I called Weber they recommended I loosen all, the screws so I could try and get the can to fit that way…how ridiculous. Paid to much to have to go through that eventide you want to change the propane can. I wholeheartedly recommend the weber q1200 portable grill.
The Traveler is not much easier or more difficult to clean than your standard gas grill. There’s a drip tray to catch the worst of it and you can easily remove the grill grates to clean the inside of the firebox or hull of the grill. The grates are best taken to the sink or a hose for rinsing. The heavy duty cast iron grate is designed to work in partnership with the single burner and funnels grease away from the burner towards the center of the grill.
Even in this crowded marketplace, many consumers are still willing to pay more for the Weber name and they are rarely disappointed.
