Before working on the pressure washer, disconnect the plug from the power supply socket. To ensure good performance, check and clean the water inlet filter (Fig. 24). Remove the pre-filter and water inlet filter and rinse with warm water to prevent any foreign matter from clogging the pump (Figs. 25 – 26).
Long story short, this unit has replaced my gas pressure washer. Turn off the water supply and squeeze the trigger to depressurize the unit. Failure to do so could result in personal injury due to discharge of high-pressure water.
This will likely take the better part of the afternoon, and folks who do this type of work on the regular will likely want something with more power. If the tool requires an extension cord, make sure it is in good condition, westinghouse pressure washers has a polarized plug, is plugged into a GFCI receptacle, is rated for outdoor use, and is properly secured. Keep it out of the way while operating the tool so that you don’t accidentally damage the electrical cord.
Unlock the trigger and you’re ready to begin washing. With the trigger lock set, attach one of the five nozzles onto the end of the spray wand. The nozzles lock into place easily (and can also be removed easily by pulling back on the Quick-Connect collar at the end of the spray wand—the nozzle will pop right off). If you’re looking for heavy-duty, hours-long cleaning session, you’ll probably be disappointed.
Hose reel attachments are great…..if they work. Sadly, the 3001 has the hose reel at the top of the piece of light equipment, so most pulls on it are going to topple it over. Frankly, this is pretty useless when pressure washing, but is nice for storage. When looking for a pressure washer, you want to have a good understanding of the jobs you want to get done.
Another excellent feature is the dual detergent tank. The Sun Joe SPX3000 has two removable tanks that can store different types of detergents to clean dissimilar projects at the same time. Next, turn on the machine for a few seconds until any remaining water leaves the pump, and then switch off the SPX3000 immediately. A potential disadvantage of the SPX3000 is that it doesn’t feature Sun Joe’s pressure select technology. With the Sun Joe SPX4000, for example, you’re able to choose between the LOW/1450 PSI setting and the HIGH/2030 PSI setting depending on how much cleaning power you need.
Avoid working on hot surfaces or in direct sunlight. Apply detergent from the bottom to the top of the sun joe spx 3000 dry surface to be cleaned. Applying detergent in this manner will dissolve dirt most effectively.
Next, we looked at which models were the easiest to move around and transport. The SunJoe offers a great degree of portability.
